Think about where you want to paint Think about where you want to print. On this bauble the print was underneath, so not ideal. It happens! Completely fine! Notice you can see all the creases in the hand. This is because there’s a lighter coating of paint. This time the ‘a’ was a bit tricky to write in paint. It was cleaned off using the flat paintbrush. This takes a bit longer than writing so I normally charge a little more if you want me to do it. The paint you receive should be the right consistency but sometimes a dry brush and an unstirred pot can result in a dry consistency. If you need a thinner consistency (for extra sharp lines) you can add the tiniest drop of water to the paint, like I have using the squiggly lines above. Practice on paper first to get the consistency you want. If you are making pots at home you might not have access to a kiln. I offer a firing service to local potters. The most important thing when firing other people’s work is ensuring sure I know the clay and glaze you are using. Firing the wrong clay or glaze at a high temperature could ruin the kiln and your work. I operate an easy drop-off and pick-up arrangement. Once we agree details, I will just leave my porch open for you to leave items with me. When ready to pick up again, the porch with be open for you to collect.
