Big fat mug

£28.00
sold out

Black clay - large coffee mug

25.00

Each mug is handmade on the potters wheel. The next day they are trimmed for uniformity and a foot ring is carved in before handles are made and attached. A layer of white slip (liquid clay) is painted onto the inside of the mug to give a glossy finish on the inside. One week later the black stoneware clay is fired for the first time and then dipped in a white glaze for a landscape-like finish. The final glaze firing brings out the darkness of the black clay. Outside, where the white slip is not painted, the glaze leaves a rougher texture.

Each mug holds approx. 12 fl oz. approx. 6.5 x 9.5cm.

Each mug is different and may not fit the measurements exactly.

Feel free to email for pictures of your mug before it is shipped.
